Golden Visa in Italy

The Golden Visa programme in Italy is unlike that in other countries since it does not offer the opportunity to become legally resident in Italy by virtue of investing in property.

Instead, investors are offered the option of making approved capital investments, for which a residency visa may be issued. Investors are entitled to a 2 year visa, renewable for 3 years, whereupon the investor may apply for permanent residency. After 10 years of residence, you may apply for Italian citizenship.

• Main applicant must be over 18 years of age

• Valid Birth Certificate
• Suitable private health insurance
• No criminal record in Spain or in country of Origin
• Evidence of having made one of the approved investments as well as the source of the funds

Approved Investments

• Minimum investment of €250,000 in innovative startups or other specified investment options like government bonds, corporate bonds, or philanthropic donations.
• Application for a Nulla Osta (certificate of no impediment) via designated Italian portals depending on the investment choice.
• Submission of documents including passport copy, CV, proof of funds, and a clean criminal record from the past 10 years across all countries of residence.
   

1. Obtain Nulla Osta through the Italian Start-Up Committee portal for innovative startups or the Investor Visa for Italy Committee portal for other investments.
2. Apply for the Investor Visa at the Italian embassy in your home country with the required documents.
3. Upon arrival in Italy, apply for an Investor Residence Permit within eight days.
4. Complete your investment or donation within three months to maintain your residence permit.

• Potential for Italian citizenship after 10 years of residency, subject to fulfilling all program requirements.
